Drucilla S. Ramey

Dru’s career has been devoted to the achievement of equal opportunity and access in the justice system. She is the former executive director of the National Association of Women Judges and former executive director and general counsel of the Bar Association of San Francisco, as well as a former tenured member of the GGU School of Law faculty.

Dru has chaired the ACLU of Northern California and the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women and served as a co-founder and board leader of a wide variety of groups devoted to diversity and equality, including California Women Lawyers, the California Minority Counsel Program, and the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. Her many honors have included the ABA Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award, the American Jewish Committee’s Learned Hand Award, the Anti-Defamation League’s Jurisprudence Award, the National Bar Association’s Wiley Branton Award, and the National Lesbian and Gay Law Association’s Allies for Justice Award. She serves on the board of directors of the American Judicature Society, the board of directors of the Habeas Corpus Resource Center, and the editorial advisory board of California Lawyer magazine.

She received her BA magna cum laude from Harvard University and her JD from Yale Law School. Dru was elected to ERA’s board in 2013.
