Pride Week of Action 2023

We are excited to invite you to participate in Equal Rights Advocates’ Pride Week of Action from June 12-16! This is a crucial time to come together and advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights. Here’s a quick rundown of the impactful activities planned for each day and how you can take action:

• Monday, June 12: Roll your sleeves up and fight for PRIDE

Last week, the Human Rights Campaign issued a National State of Emergency for LGBTQ+ Americans. This is not a drill. Over 500 pieces of anti-LGBTQ legislation have been introduced across the country. Falling on Pulse Remembrance Day (the anniversary of the mass shooting at Florida’s Pulse Nighclub), it’s imperative we come together and protect the most vulnerable amongst our community. Do not let this moment slip away: donate, post on social media, talk to your friends and family. We’re in this together.

• Tuesday, June 13: Equality Act Day:

Raise your voice by emailing your Senators to expand civil rights for women, nonbinary individuals, and LGBTQ+ people. The Equality Act seeks to eradicate legal discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. By ensuring non-discrimination in areas such as employment, healthcare, housing, and education, we can create a society where everyone is treated with dignity and fairness. • Wednesday, June 14 – Support California AB 518, Paid Family Leave for Chosen Family:

We need your support for California Assembly Bill 518, which aims to provide paid family leave for chosen family members. This bill is particularly significant for the LGBTQIA+ community, as many rely on chosen family for care and support. Let’s join forces to ensure that all California workers have the financial security they need to care for their seriously ill loved ones without fear of losing their jobs. • Thursday, June 15: LGBTQIA+ Equal Pay Awareness Day

We unite to challenge a system that devalues our labor, perpetuates discrimination based on identities, and denies us the economic security we deserve. • Friday, June 16: Volunteer to March with ERA in San Francisco Pride on June 25, or Donate
