Latina Equal Pay Day
This October 5 we observe Latina Equal Pay Day. (Read more below). You are invited to join us for 2 events:
- National #LatinaEqualPay Day social media storm: Oct. 5, 11:00 am PT / 2:00 pm ET, co-hosted by Equal Pay Today, LCLAA and Justice for Migrant Women. We will be uniting to address glaring injustice in the workforce impacting Latina workers. Raise awareness with us using hashtags #LatinaEqualPay and #Trabajadoras.
- Latina Equal Pay Summit in Los Angeles: Sept. 30, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm PT.
Join us in person in Los Angeles! The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA), Justice for Migrant Women, and the Equal Pay Today Campaign are hosting a day of action on September 30 leading up to Latina Equal Pay Day. We will confront the systems that cause the pay gap and strategies to support Latinas in the workplace, including ongoing policy campaigns to strengthen workplace protections and close the wage gap. Equal Rights Advocates thanks Women’s Foundation California for being a valued supporter of this National Summit.

About Latina Equal Pay Day
Latina women are one of the fastest growing, most powerful groups in the United States, exceling in every sector and industry in our country. Despite all of this, in 2022, Latinas continued to face a pay gap that is, on average, an abysmal 52 cents per $1.00 paid to non-Hispanic white men. The wage disparity is a clear reflection of the economic hurdles Latinas continue to encounter.
Latina women are overrepresented in industries that are underpaid and often lack basic workplace protections. Farmworkers, domestic workers, immigrant, migrant, seasonal, and part-time workers continue to be excluded from critical employment protections. For women who are immigrants, their citizenship status often makes them more vulnerable to wage theft and sexual harassment. Until the women who perform some of our country’s most essential jobs are able to achieve economic security, our economy and communities will not be as strong as they can be.
In addition to raising awareness, we’ll be emailing our representatives about the Paycheck Fairness Act and the Raise the Wage Act of 2023.
