Harassment, Discrimination and Diversity, at National Conference for State Legislators
ERA’s Jessica Ramey Stender will speak at the National Conference for State Legislators’ (NCSL) Base Camp conference on Sept. 16, on the panel entitled “Harassment, Discrimination and Diversity: State Actions to Create Safe and Inclusive Workplaces.”
Three years ago, the Time’s Up movement brought focus to sexual harassment and bullying in the workplace. Businesses of every size were asked to address how they protect and inform their workers and prevent gender discrimination. This year, the continued rise of the Black Lives Matter movement has compelled companies to address similar questions about promoting diversity, inclusion and anti-discrimination in the workplace. Examine policies states have adopted over the last three years to address discrimination and harassment in the workplace and policies that could be considered today.
