Presented by:

  • Thais Alves, California Women’s Law Center
  • Maha Ibrahim, Equal Rights Advocates

With our partners at the California Women’s Law Center, ERA is hosting a legal training analyzing the changes made to Title IX by the Trump Administration in 2017 related to campus sexual assault and harassment, as well as potential considerations to move toward more transparency, support, and fairness in addressing sexual assault on college campuses.

This webinar will also outline the legal process the U.S. Department of Education is taking to comply with President Biden’s Executive Order to review, rescind, and replace the Trump Administration’s Title IX Regulations, which effectively increased protections for perpetrators of gender-based violence while decreasing protections for, and assistance to, victims.

Attendees will consider the scope of sexual assault and harassment in higher education, review former and existing Title IX protections against this form of discrimination, and discuss the administrative procedure involved in proposing and issuing new regulations.

We will also discuss the ways California law has bolstered protections for student survivors of sex-based dissemination, including sexual harassment and assault, even while these protections have been eroded under federal law.

Please join us for this webinar on Thursday September 30, from 11:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m. PDT.

1.25 hours of general MCLE credit is available through this training. Register here.
