Justice Rising: Honoring our Champions and Defending our Future on Equal Pay Day 2025

April 10. 2025

On March 25 and 26 we gathered 100+ state, national, and tribal organizations — alongside fierce Congressional representatives and former administration leaders — for an Equal Pay Day reception and summit, “Justice Rising: Honoring our Champions and Defending our Future.”

Friends from co-host National Women’s Law Center (Gaylynn Burroughs, Andrea Johnson) with Biden Administration Justice Rising honoree Maya Raghu.

During these empowering events, we reclaimed our nation’s capital for the communities and families we serve. You will see the fruits of this organizing in the year ahead, in our defense of rights and unapologetic push for continued progress.

Over two incredible days together, we honored pay equity champions, engaged in thought-provoking discussions, and strategized on ways to advance economic justice. Honorees included:

Former EEOC Chair and Biden Administration Justice Rising honoree Charlotte A. Burrows
Vice Chair of the Democratic Women’s Caucus and U.S. Representative from New Mexico, Teresa Leger Fernandez

U.S. Representative from D.C. Eleanor Holmes Norton

Honoree Wendy Chun-Hoon (third from the right), former director of the Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau
