Stronger CA: Celebrating 10 Years at the 2025 Policy Convening & Reception
On Jan. 21, Tuesday more than 100 advocates, legislators, and community members gathered to celebrate Stronger California’s 10th anniversary.
It was an incredible evening of connection, reflection, and renewed commitment to advancing gender, racial, and economic justice. The energy in the room was electric as advocates connected with legislators and fellow changemakers, reinforcing the relationships that make our coalition so effective.
Together, we honored a decade of groundbreaking policy achievements while setting our sights on the work ahead.

Today, we are confronted with very real challenges, but Stronger California is an example of what we can achieve when we stick to OUR values and keep fighting together to see them through.
This celebration reminded us that our greatest strength lies in our unity and shared commitment to justice. We not only celebrated our collective success over the last decade, we also reaffirmed our commitment to protecting and uplifting our most vulnerable communities. We will continue to fight as we have always done.
Highlights from the Evening:
We were honored to hear from trailblazing women in the California legislature. Assembly Majority Leader and Chair of the Legislative Women’s Caucus, Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, shared powerful insights about the importance of women holding elected office and the critical partnership between legislators and advocates in advancing bold policy reform.
Senator Maria Elena Durazo reflected on crucial new health and safety protections for nearly 200,000 agency-based domestic workers, achieved by tireless worker-led advocacy over the course of a multi-year campaign. Senator Caroline Menjivar highlighted another 2024 Stronger California win expanding access to IVF and other fertility health care and updating statutory language to be inclusive of LGBTQ+ family-planning.
Our coalition partners from Mujeres Unidas y Activas, Parent Voices, and GRACE/End Child Poverty CA spoke about the direct impacts on their lives of Stronger CA policy and budget wins and the ongoing need to ensure adequate budget funding forCalifornia’s most vulnerable communities and achieve policy reforms further strengthening the rights and protections of all Californians. This ongoing advocacy will build upon our network’s successful track record of passing over 50 laws and securing billions of dollars in budget funding supporting California’s women, workers, and families.
Thank you for being part of this milestone moment and for your continued dedication to building a stronger, more equitable California!
